What advice would you give to those considering this online program?
Please know that these courses go very fast. It is extremely important to communicate with your professor. Professors understand how busy your life is, so the more you communicate with them the better.
What is the value of this degree?
No matter if you are a general or special education teacher, administrator, school counselor, etc., you will work with students with disabilities at your school. This degree will give you ideas for how to best help these kids.
Why did you start teaching?
I started teaching because I love to work with kids. I first started teaching in general education. While teaching general education, I realized how much I loved my kids with disabilities. That made me want to get my master's in special education.
Tell us something that your students might find interesting about you.
I love fitness! I am a marathon runner and I teach spinning at a few gyms near where I live. It would be very rare for me to miss a day working out!
