The Ed Admin District-Level Licensure is ideal for aspiring superintendents, assistant superintendents, and district-level directors. - Understand federal and state laws that apply to students with exceptionalities, as well as information related to the legal, instructional, and administrative aspects of special education

Your journey begins here! The admission process is the first step toward completing your post-graduate program. Be sure to get familiar with these requirements to enroll in the Educational Administration District-Level Licensure online program. This program is not eligible for financial aid.
Admission Requirements:
- Official transcripts
- Master’s degree
- Building-level educational administration license
Ed Admin District-Level Licensure Online Admission Requirements
- GPA of 3.0 on the last 60 hours of undergraduate coursework for those completing a master’s degree or 3.0 on the last 30 hours of graduate coursework from a previously completed master’s program
- Copy of state-issued building-level administration license
- Official copies of all undergraduate and graduate transcripts
- A completed transfer request form for students who wish to transfer in credit hours toward the Educational Administration District-Level Licensure online program; students may find the transfer request at emporia.edu/gradtransfer
- Current state-issued teaching license (or other relevant professional license such as: school psychologist, school counselor, speech-language pathologist). It is strongly encouraged that students submit a copy of the license by the admissions document deadline and required no later than the first day of class. Students who do not submit a copy by the first day of class could potentially be dropped from all classes. The license can be uploaded to the Graduate Application Portal or emailed to [email protected].
- Minimum five years teaching experience is required by the state of Kansas to be eligible for the administrative license. Applicants are encouraged to check professional experience requirements outlined by their state licensing organizations.
- All online students must complete an ID Verification form. It is strongly encouraged that students complete this form by the admissions document deadline and required no later than the first day of class. This form can be accessed directly through the Graduate Application Portal. Students who do not complete the form by the first day of class could potentially be dropped from all classes.
Official transcripts from all institutions attended can be submitted via a secure electronic service offered by the issuing institution to [email protected] or by selecting Emporia State University on the transcript request form, mailed (or overnighted) to:

Students who have obtained a degree from a foreign university/college must have a transcript evaluation from a recommended external source that is a member of NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services). Students will not be allowed to enroll until the evaluation has been received in the Graduate School.
